This creamy tomato-basil sauce is a perfect easy recipe to celebrate National Spaghetti Day, or any regular old pasta night! The recipe is totally vegan, quick to make, and did I mention...delicious? If you enjoy a little bit of heat, make sure to include the Calabrian chiles!
• 3 tbsp olive oil (+ more for serving as needed)
• 2 Calabrian chiles (optional)
• 1 yellow onion diced
• 4 garlic cloves chopped
• 1 can crushed tomatoes
• 1 & 1/4 cup Take Two Original Barleymilk
• Fresh Basil
• 1/2 tsp Oregano
• Salt and Pepper to taste
• 1/4 cup grated vegan parmesan
Heat olive oil over medium heat. Add garlic, onion, and chiles (optional). Sauté until onion is translucent.
Add several leaves of fresh basil to oil. Once they are wilted, add the can of crushed tomatoes, oregano, salt, and pepper and bring to a simmer.
Stir in Take Two Original Barleymilk and vegan parmesan cheese until well combined.
Serve over spaghetti or pasta of your choice.
